October 28, 2004
I know that it may not seem so, to look at my blog records for the previous years, but October is always a difficult month for me. Difficult as in I can't seem to get a damn thing done. Maybe it's election day, maybe the changing of the weather--but for whatever reason, the 28 days between Rita Celestial's birthday and mine always seem to simultaneously stretch on for ever, rush by too quickly, and entangle everything in a weird, dimensional timewarp kind of muckiness.
Ahem, yeah. Having said that, I now feel absolved for my lack of posting. See how easy that was?
No, no, it's never that easy. I feel obligated to fill "you all" in on the news that I have neglected to follow up on. So here we go:
No job yet, but I've resumed looking, after a little break.
Shorn's Grandpa was doing great and scheduled to come home, but as of yesterday he has pneumonia and is back in the real hospital. As of today, he is doing "good" and wheezing less, and Shorn reports that he has a "hot" respiratory therapist. Go Grandpa.
My parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on Monday, which is somewhat impressive. The commemorated the event by having their son-in-law cook them one of the meals that he had invented, and then spend the rest of the evening complimenting him on his wonderful meal. They always did like him best.
My Mom bestowed me with an early birthday present of a sewing machine, which I am way more excited about than a rational person should be. It came complete with my Mom's declaration that I was "Like a real adult, now."
It's only because of that cute little grin that she gets away with it.
