Well, no word about the job, as of yet. They have to do all sorts of background checks, since it is a government job and all. I was given three slightly different stories about call-backs: 'next week', 'middle of next week', and 'late next week'. So I'm not worried yet.

Actually, I'm pretty relaxed about the whole thing. I figure that if I haven't heard anything by Thursday (my next day off) I'll start the job hunt up again, just to keep myself productive.

Aside from that, I have been totally obsessed with Fall and Rain, ever since our brief (but rather intense) little rainstorm on Sunday. I woke up and heard the rain, and just got all filled up with giddiness.

"It's raining!" I yelled out to Shorn, who had just gotten up and was at his computer.

"It's raining?" He said, sounding like he didn't quite understand the words. Then, a few seconds later: "It's raining!"

We spent the morning enjoying the rain and cold as we ran errands. Then, just like that, the sun came out.

And it's been sunny ever since.

I'm a little bitter.

Don't get me wrong. I love summertime. I like the warm weather, and holidays, and trips to the mountains and all that. But I really love the rain. The cool, humid air, the clean smell, the wet plants.

I've grown very accustomed to California's Mediterranean climate, but the whole Indian summer period is always distressing to me. Once it rains, I'm ready to make the switch.

So dammit, I've already broken out the flannel, it's time for rain.
