Well, hell, I guess I should go ahead and post.
Yes, after a post like Sunday's, an update would be good.
The news: Shorn's Gpa is doing good--as in amazingly good. As in sittin' up/watchin' TV/flirtin' with the nurses/transferrin' out of ICU a day early good. When we saw him on Monday, you wouldn't even know that he had just had head surgery (except for that big bandage--that tends to give it away).
As for me, I celebrated his recovery by spending Monday having a gigantic cranky whine-fest. There was much angst and crying and general Shorn-abuse, even after he took me out to feed me--twice. To my credit, most of this misery had to do with VERY IMPORTANT THINGS, like the incredibly disorganized state of my linen closet.
I don't think I do well without sleep. Have I ever mentioned this?
By Tuesday I was feeling better, and I started my day by witnessing a 5-car high-speed accident on 880 on my way to work. Afterwards, everybody got out of their cars and walked away, even the drunk guy that had caused the whole thing. An ominous start to the day, but it all went uphill from there. Work was easy, and Shorn and I made these kickass chicken thingies for dinner. And then he organized the linen closet.
It's amazing how sweet this guy is. He must get a little bit of that from his Grandfather.
