I did a full-blown karate workout today, for the first time in about seven years.
This was my routine:
Stretch
Crunches, leg lifts
Striking sets 1-10, ten reps
Kicking sets 1-14, ten reps
Combo sets 1-5, ten reps
3 basic kicks, eight reps (two trips across the living room)
Punches (single x20, triple x10, directional x10 , ten fast x4)
Yellow belt techniques, 3 reps, side a
Stretch
The whole thing took about 45 minutes, and made me tired, sweaty, and hot. No wonder group class used to be so grueling.
But
it also made me feel very good.
So good, in fact, that I now have this picture as my wallpaper.
I am such a dork, I love me.
