The Journal Project

June 14, 2004

So I'm prone to random fits of paranoia, and I started imagining all the things that could go wrong between finishing my internship class last Wednesday, and actually getting my degree.  Most involved some sort of administrative mishap on the part of Karina, my advisor.  Karina is, after all, not only a genius, but a very busy genius, and it is not beyond the scope of a busy genius to occasionally forget a thing or two.

I fretted about this possibility every once in a while over the weekend, knowing full well that I shouldn't.  And in any case, I could not check my transcripts until today, at the earliest.

And when that fateful day of today finally came, I forgot all about it.  I even got on the computer and checked my email and blogs before going to work this morning.  So it wasn't until this evening that I remembered to look at my transcript on the CSUH website, and I found this:

Degrees Awarded:
Bachelor of Arts Mar 19, 2004
School of Arts, Letters & Social Science
Major: Environmental Studies, with
concentration in Ecology/Life Sciences

To answer the first obvious question: yes, it is supposed to say March.  I did technically graduate provisionally back at the end of winter quarter, it just wasn't real until now.  And to answer the second obvious question: yeah, it really does feel good to see it in print.
